The 29th International Bridge Conference (IBC) was held in Pittsburgh, US from the day of 10 June 2012 to 13 June 2012. The theme of the 29th IBC is “the Sky is the limit”. There are more than 1500 bridge experts and scholars participating in this conference. Mr. Wen Wusong, Secretary of MBEC party committee and Superintendent of Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge and Mr. Qin Shunquan who is Academician, China Academy of Engineering and Chief Engineer of MBEC were invited by the conference commission.
On the ceremony held in the afternoon of 12 June 2012, Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge was illuminated in its design, construction, the position in the world and influence. Mr. Thomas ? Rich, the IBC president, chartered George S? Richardson Medal to the bridge and joyously accepted the bridge model of Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge.
Following George S? Richardson Medal awarded to Tianxingzhou Yangtze River Bridge in 2010, MBEC obtained this honor again after one year.
